Alphe Romero

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Monday, November 1, 2010 at a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Church honoring the life of Alphe Romero, 87, who died Saturday, October 30, 2010 at Abbeville General Hospital.

He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Reverend Kenneth Mayne officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Douglas Romero, Russell Romero, Marshall Romero, Cory Romero, Ian Landry and Tommy Pontiff.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Lillian Pontiff Romero of Abbeville; two sons, Douglas Romero and wife Ruby of Abbeville and Russell Romero and wife Rita of Shreveport; one daughter, Vickie Landry and husband Ray of Abbeville; one sister, Esther Whited of Orange, TX; six grandchildren, Melvin Romero and wife Beth, Michelle Dartez and husband Kenneth, Marshall Romero and wife Rayna, Cory Romero and fiance' Amber Bertrand, Meghann Landry and Ian Landry; six great grandchildren, Sarah Romero, Elizabeth Romero, Benjamin Romero, Tyler Romero, Jacob Gerard and Chandler Paige Romero; three step great grandchildren, Mandy Dartez, Nathan Boling and Gregory Boling; and two step great-great grandchildren, Gabriel Boling and Bailey Devillier.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elphege Romero and Marie Celestine Guillotte; grandson, Jason Romero and a brother, Eustis Romero.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Sunday, October 31, 2010 from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m. and Monday, from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
