Kaplan—Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 6, 2010 at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan honoring the life of Laura Fruge Broussard, 92, who died Friday, November 5, 2010 at her residence. She will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend David Broussard officiating the services.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Preston J. Broussard Sr. of Kaplan; one daughter, Mary Ann Romero and her husband, Whitney J. Romero Jr. of Nunez; her daughter-in-law, Deanna H. Broussard of Gueydan; one sister, Lillias Ebner of Beaumont, Texas; five grandchildren, Marica White, Dena Petry, Whitney Romero III, Jarod Romero and Craig Romero; and ten great grandchildren, Dustin Petry, Darrel White, Alicia White, Courtney Romero, Ashley Romero, Kaine Broussard, Kendra Petry, Dempsey Turner, Jillian Romero and Ethan Romero.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Artmeon Fruge and the former Philomine Guidry; stepfather, Leonce Baudoin; son, Preston J. Broussard Jr.; grandson, P.J. Broussard III; brother, Roy Fruge; and her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Walter and Ella Broussard.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Friday, November 5, 2010 from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7 p.m.; Saturday, November 6, from 8 a.m. until services.
