A funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary Magdalen Church Monday, November 27, 2006 at a 2:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial honoring the life of Arnold Mouton, 77, who died November 23, 2006. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home, 209 South St. Charles, Abbeville, Sunday, November 26th from 12:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Visitation to continue Monday, November 27th from 8:00 a.m. until time of services. Arnold Mouton was born in Abbeville, LA on April 11, 1929. He was a graduate of Abbeville High School class of 1946. He joined the United States Marine Corps after graduation and was honorably discharged ending a 22 year military career as a Master Sergeant. Returning to Abbeville, he was employed by the American Discount Cororation of Kaplan, LA. After leaving American Discount Cororation , he was employed by Zapata Haynie in Intracoastal City, LA. After retiring from a third career, he retired to his home on Eaton Drive with his family. He will be laid to rest in St. Paul Cemetery with Father Kevin Bordelon officiating the services. He is survived by his wife, Marcel Broussard Mouton; two sons, Avery Mouton and his wife Theresa of Youngsville and Robert Mouton of Austin three daughters, Deborah Meaux of Meaux, Denese Thompson and husband Jim of Abbeville and Linda Jones and her husband Patrick of Abbeville; two sisters, Florence Guidry of Abbeville and Ella LeBlanc of Franklin; fourteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pierre Avery Mouton and the former Lawrance D'Armentor; six brothers, Eule Mouton, Edmond Mouton, Ora Mouton, Miller Mouton, Paul Rio Mouton and Nolan Mouton; and two sisters, Euna Mouton and Nola Mouton. In lieu of flowers his family asked donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the local VFW Post # 3793.
