A funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary Magdalen Church Monday, November 27, 2006 at a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial honoring the life of Irene Broussard Prejean, 78, who died November 25, 2006. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home, 209 South St. Charles, Abbeville, Sunday, November 26th from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with rosaries to be prayed at 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue Monday, November 27th from 8:00 a.m. until time of services. She was a secretary for the Vermilion Association for Physically Handicapped as well as a past secretary for the Vermilion Boat Club. She loved to cook and represented Louisiana at many different festivals, cooking many different dishes. She retired as a bookkeeper from the Palms Hospital. She will be laid to rest in St. Mary Mausoleum with Father Kevin Bordelon officiating the services. She is survived by her husband of over 60 years Mr. Clercy Prejean of Abbeville; and a brother, Durphy Broussard of LeBlanc Community. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alphe T. and Marie Frederick Broussard. Pallbearers include Randy Hebert, Richard Hebert, Glenn Broussard, Ronald Broussard, Chris Arabie and Barrett Broussard.
