Kaplan - Funeral services will be held Friday, November 19, 2010 at a 1 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Ruby Mouton Trahan, 81, who died Thursday, November 18, 2010 at Kaplan Healthcare Center. She will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend Keith Landry officiating the services.
Mrs. Trahan was a member of Immaculate Conception Church where she was on the Ladies Altar Society as well as a eucharistic minister. She loved reading, crocheting and spending time outside doing yard work. She was a very loving mother and grandmother, and her greatest joy in life was spending time with her grand and great grandchildren.
She is survived by one son, Michael Paul Trahan and his wife, Sylvia "Tweety" of Forked Island; one daughter, Patricia and her husband, Bill McKee of Lafayette; four grandchildren, Christy and her husband, Wes Schexnider, Brandon Trahan and his wife, Andrea, Annie Livingston and Elizabeth Livingston; and three great grandchildren, Bryce Trahan, Marlee Trahan and Brant Schexnider.
She was preceded in death by her husband of forty years, LeRoy Paul Trahan; and her parents, Ophie and Anise LeMaire Mouton.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Thursday, November 18, 2010 from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.; Friday, November 19, 2010 from 8 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. when the procession will depart for the church.
