Lawrence “Snow” Noel

November 16, 1919 — December 3, 2010

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Monday, December 6, 2010 at a 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church honoring the life of Lawrence “Snow” Noel, 91, who died Friday, December 3, 2010 at Maison du Monde Living Center.

He will be laid to rest at St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery with Father Scott DesOrmeaux officiating the services.

“Snow” served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy during WWII. Upon returning home from the war he started farming and raising cattle.

He is survived by his wife, June Trahan Noel of Abbeville; one brother, Olton "Nick" Noel of Abbeville; two sisters, Gertrude Noel Laborde of Marksville and Mabel Noel Lyons of Jackson, Mississippi.

He was preceded in death by his father, L.H. Noel; mother, Elizabeth Griffin; seven brothers, Whitney Noel, Elwood Noel, Walter P. Noel, Henry Noel, R.C. Noel, Wilfred Noel, and Harold Noel, four sisters, Elda N. Jeanmard, Stella N. Leggette, Sadie N. Guidry and Ella Mae N. Theriot.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Sunday, December 5, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m. The family will reopen on Monday, December 6, 2010 from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
