Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 11, 2006, at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church for Alton Leo Hebert, 75, of Abbeville, who died Friday, December 8, 2006, at Lafayette General Medical Center. Interment will follow in the Hebert Cemetery in Abbeville. The Reverend Kevin Bordelon will celebrate the funeral mass and conduct the graveside services. Mr. Hebert, a native and lifelong resident of Abbeville, was a retired farmer. He proudly served in the Louisiana National Guard. He is survived by his wife of over 45 years, Glenda M. Sonnier Hebert, Abbeville; a son, Edward Brian Broussard and his wife, Jeannie K. Blankenship Broussard, Redlands, Ca.; 3 daughters, Catherine B. Devoltz Bourque and husband, Richard Bourque, Abbeville; Greta B. Redden, Calhoun, La. And Etta H. LeBoeuf and husband, Shelley “Joey” LeBoeuf, Abbeville; a brother, Raymond Hebert and 3 sisters, Lillian H. Broussard, Erath; Lelia H. Shaw, La Verne, Ca.; and Philomene H. Suire, Abbeville, 12 grand children and 10 great grand children. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanislaus Hebert and Celestine Ricaud Hebert; a grandson, Casey Gerard LeBoeuf; a great grandson, James Howard Devoltz; 3 brothers, Henry Lewis Hebert, Claude Clementine Hebert and Wilton Hebert; 3 sisters, Alphonsine H. Bares; Angeline H. Hebert and Louise H. Broussard. Pallbearers include James Neil Devoltz Jr., Joseph Edward Devoltz, Richard James Bourque II, Shelley Joey LeBoeuf, Samuel Suire and Jesse (Butch) DeHart Jr. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Sunday, December 10, 2006 with a Rosary to be prayed at 6:00 p.m. Visitation will resume Monday, December 11, 2006 at 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
