Abbeville: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 23, 2006, at Vincent Funeral Home, honoring the life of Thomas Meaux, 86, of Abbeville, LA who died December 21, 2006 at his residence surrounded by his family. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery with Reverend Kevin Bordelon officiating. Mr. Thomas Meaux was born on March 4, 1920 in Leroy, Louisiana and lived most of his life in Abbeville, Louisiana. Mr. Meaux was an Army Sergeant stationed in Europe during World War II. He was awarded the ATO Medal, Eameto Medal, Good Conduct Medal and WWII Victory Medal. He was the business owner of Meaux's Sausage Kitchen and was employed by the Louisiana State Highway Department. He was also a member of the American Legion. Mr. Meaux is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Leona Romero Meaux. Grandchildren, Jennifer Hunteman (Greg) of Austin, Tx, Regina Baldwin (Robert) of Beaumont, TX, Michelle Meaux-Longaker (Mark) of Austin, TX, Claudia Shriner (David) of Fort Lewis, W A, Mandy Meaux of Philadelphia, P A, Lance Meaux of New Iberia, LA, Thomas Paul Cessac (Eve) of Delcambre, LA, Logan Cessac of Abbeville, LA, Jimmy Sandridge of Baton Rouge, LA and Jessica Sandridge of Abbeville, LA. Great Grandchildren, Emily, Lauren and Ethan Hunteman of Austin, TX, Brittini and Lindsie Bourque and Kourtney Baldwin of Beaumont, TX, Destin Meaux ofFott Lewis, W A, Rosalind Meaux of Austin, TX, Gabriel, Zoe, JohnPaul, Alyssa, and Gage Michael Cessac of Abbeville, LA, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Meaux was preceded in death by his parents Femest and Angelique Meaux, brothers, Etienne, Isadore, Romain, and Eddie, sisters, Angela, Aline, Zoe, and Colastie, grandchildren, Angella and Angelique Cessac and great grandchild Faith Cessac. Pallbearers will be, Thomas Paul Cessac, Logan Cessac, Lance Meaux, Jimmy Sandridge, Spring Humble and Jeffery Cessac. A special thanks to Barbara Istre, Laura Menard, Laura Mae Herpin, Ix & Beverly Romero, Deanna Broussard, Paul and Eve Cessac, Jeffery and Logan Cessac, Acadian Homecare and Hospice of Acadiana for all of their love, help and support. The family request that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home of Abbeville, Friday, December 22, 2006, from 1:30 pm until time of service on Saturday.
