Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 8, 2007 at St. Theresa Catholic Church for Mrs. Ella Marie Faulk Guidry, 98, who passed away Saturday, January 6, 2007 at Vermilion Health Care in Nunez. Interment will be in St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery in Abbeville. Rev. Kenneth Mayne, pastor of St. Theresa Catholic Church, will conduct the services. Mrs. Guidry was a home maker. She was an avid Home Demonstration Member. Ella held the office of president as well as many other offices in her club. She also held offices on the parish level. She enjoyed traveling with her Home Demonstration group. From her group, she learned how to sew and improve her cooking skills and won many awards. Survivors include her son, Floyd Guidry and his wife, Beulah of Meaux, her daughter, Nally Simon and her husband, Carroll “Karo” of Abbeville two brothers, Minos Faulk of Houma; and John Faulk of Meaux; eight grandchildren, Stephanie Dartez, John Simon, Milissa Guidry, Trisha, Troy, and Todd Doucet, Angie Schexnaider and James Neil Guidry, and 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Percy Louis Guidry, a daughter, Marie Dolores Hymel, her father, Ulyssee Faulk, her mother, Olympe Landry Faulk, step-mother, Nomia Broussard Faulk, sister, Agnes Alleman and three brothers, Edes, Freddie, and J.Y. Faulk. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, January 7, 2007 from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and again on Monday, January 8, 2007 from 8:00 a.m. until service time. A Rosary will be prayed Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Troy and Todd Doucet, John Simon, Randy Schexnaider, Lee Guidry, Chad Dartez and Marshall Faulk.
