E.A. Sigur, Jr.

November 3, 1918 — January 9, 2007

Memorial
services will be held Saturday,
January 13, 2007 at 1 :30 p.m. in
St. Mary Magdalen Catholic
Church honoring the life of E.A.
"Ed" Sigur, Jr., 88, who died
January 09, 2007 at a Lafayette
hospital. Reverend William
Blanda will officiate at the
services.
Ed was active in the Town of
Abbeville athletics. He was a
longtime supporter of Abbeville
High School athletics, and
former president of the Kiawanis
Club. He was a member to the
Vermilion Parish School Board
and served on the Parks and
Recreation Community. He was
a veteran of the United States
Army who served our country
during World War II in Africa and
Europe.
He is survived by one son,
Ross Sigur and his wife Celeste
of Abbeville; two daughters, Dea
S. Elder of Lafayette and Kay S.
Bunce and her husband Chuck
of Birmingham, Alabama; and
seven grandchildren, Candice
Sigur, Katie Sigur, Christie Elder,
Toby Elder, Mark Suire, Sy Suire
and Jamie Hamilton.
He was preceded in death by
his wife, Rose Eisler Sigur; his
parents, E.A. Sigur, Sr. and the
former Paula Mouton; and one
sister, Yvonne "Pud" Richard.
