Alfred Ray Romaine

Kaplan—A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February  6, 2019 at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Alfred Ray Romaine, Jr., 86, who died Thursday, January 31, 2019 at his residence.  He will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend Mark Miley officiating the services.

Mr. Romaine worked 33 years for Unocal in Lafayette, Louisiana. He spent his retirement years seeing the country from his RV and trail riding. He moved to Texas and became known as “Pow” spending his last years surrounded by family and his beloved poodle, Toby.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Dorothy Compete; his four sons, Keith Romaine and his wife, Donna,  Al Romaine and his wife, Diane, Charles Romaine and his wife, Connie, and Richard Romaine and his wife, Erin;  three daughters, Pam Romaine, Sue Sonnier and her husband, Bert, and Laura Romaine; 13 grandchildren;  four great grandchildren; his brothers, Madison “Buddy” Romaine and Larry Romaine and his wife, Annie; and his sister, Rayetta Bush.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cynthia Romaine; his parents, Alfred Ray Romaine, Sr and Eunice Martel; and his sister, Mary Emily Romaine.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 600 N. Church Avenue, on Wednesday, February  6, 2019 from 9:00 AM until the time of services.

In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to Vitas Hospice Houston.
