Cow Island—A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at St. Anne Catholic Church in Cow Island honoring the life of Amanda Kelly Toups, 51, who died Thursday, April 4, 2024 at Ochsner Medical Center. She will be laid to rest at St. Anne Cemetery with Father “Su” Suresh Mathangi officiating the services.
Amanda was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, aunt, and friend. She was born on January 25, 1973 in Kaplan, and her vibrant spirit touched the lives of all who knew her.
Graduating from E. Broussard High School in 1991, Amanda embarked on a journey filled with warmth, creativity, and an unwavering love for those around her. She held a special place in the hearts of her family and friends, whose lives she enriched with her love, compassion, and laughter.
Known for her adventurous spirit and love for the outdoors, Amanda found such joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a passion for fishing and crabbing, often spending serene days by the water's edge, soaking in the beauty of nature and enjoying the bounty it offered.
Beyond her outdoor pursuits, Amanda possessed a remarkable talent for art and crafts. She had a creative flair and poured her heart and soul into her creations, leaving behind a legacy of beauty and inspiration for all who admired her work.
But above all, her greatest joy came from spending time with her beloved family and friends. Whether gathered around the dinner table, sharing stories and laughter, or embarking on new adventures together, she treasured every moment spent in their company.
Amanda will be fondly remembered for her kindness, her infectious laughter, and the warmth she brought into the lives of those around her. Though she may have departed from this world, her spirit will live on eternally in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to have known her.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry Toups of Forked Island; one daughter, Laney Kirsten Toups of Forked Island; one stepson, Isaiah Toups of Kaplan; her parents, A.J. and Mable Constantine of Forked Island; one sister, Tanya Fontenot (Justin) of Kaplan; one brother, Kevin Constantine (Cindy) of Forked Island; her nieces and nephews, Valarie Constantine, Andrew Constantine, and her Godchild, Kodi Constantine; and one great-nephew, Opie Mathews.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Dewey and Alva Jane Suire; and her paternal grandparents, Andrew Constantine and Amanda Benoit.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home in Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Ave., on Monday, April 8, 2024 from 11:00 AM until 10:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM; Tuesday, April 9, 2024 from 8:00 AM until the procession departs for the church at 10:30 AM.
