Anna Louise "Jane" Deperrodil

March 15, 1929 — January 30, 2021

Gueydan—Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, February  1, 2021 at Vincent Funeral Home - Gueydan honoring the life of Anna Klein dePerrodil, 91, who died Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Cedar Crest Memory Care.  She will be laid to rest at Gueydan Cemetery with Reverend Steven C. LeBlanc officiating the services.

Anna Louise Klein was born in Branch, Louisiana and christened the following day. For many years, Jane was a member of St. Basil Catholic Church in Duson and, previously, a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Gueydan.  Her Catholic faith was very important to her and her children and their families surely benefited from the prayers she said daily for them.  She was a very social person who enjoyed the many large German family gatherings her family held in her youth and young adult years, especially her Maw’s 90 th birthday celebration in Frey.  She was able to have her own 90 th years later, just as she’d hoped.  For many years, she was a nurse for Dr. Logan Gardiner at his clinic in Gueydan.  She’d jokingly say that she pierced many girls ears crooked if they’d dated her sons.  She and her first husband, Punk, enjoyed playing card games with many of their friends and Friday nights were game nights for years.  She later traveled with her second husband, Warren, to many of his Air Force reunions, where she furthered her friendships with many of those who served with Warren and their wives across the United States.  Her yard in Duson, where she lived out the latter part of her life, was always filled with flowers and flowering shrubs.  She loved clothes and shoes and cried the day Abdalla’s in the Oil Center closed.  She spent many Saturdays finding “everything” at her favorite store then eating at Picadilly after shopping.  Sunday and holiday meals usually included her crawfish etouffee’, potato salad and other favorites she liked to cook.  The casino’s lost a few dollars to the “slot machine bandit” while the German Fest was the pride and joy of her family heritage.  She will live on in our family conversations and her physical presence will be extremely missed.

She is survived by her children, Thomas John Heard (Sarah), Joseph William Heard (Ann) and Timothy James Heard (Pat); her stepson, Douglas dePerrodil (Virginia); her grandchildren, Erin Leigh H. Broussard, Jennifer Louise Heard, Jill Joanna H. Moore (Luke), Jan Katherine Heard, Jeffrey Grant Heard (Ihlien) and Jared Joseph Heard; her great grandchildren, Audrey Anna B. Faulk (William), Savannah Broussard, Aiden Broussard, Hank Wheeler, Halle Jo Wheeler and Hollis Wheeler; her great-great grandchild, Lucy Jane Faulk.

She was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, Dewey Grant “Punk” Heard; her second husband, Adam Warren dePerrodil; her parents, Joseph and Regina; her siblings, Clara, Hilda, Gertrude and Lawrence; her eldest son, Daniel; and a grandchild, Baby Boy Heard; and her step grandchild, Adam dePerrodil.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Gueydan, 311 Fourth St., on Monday, February  1, 2021 from 10:00 AM until the time of the services at 2:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 12:00 PM.
