Arlene Matte Cook

Kaplan—Arlene Matte Cook, 56, died Monday, May 20, 2024 at Abbeville General Hospital.

Arlene lived in Moss Bluff for 46 years before moving to Cow Island. She enjoyed the quietness of the area. Her two favorite pastimes were watching old movies and spending time with her best friend, her mother.

She is survived by her son, Andrew "Drew" Cook of Cow Island; her daughter, Emily Cook of Baton Rouge; her mother, Eula Leger Matte of Cow Island; two grandchildren, Sandrina Clark, and Eric Battles; one sister, Angie David (Hal) of Cow Island; one nephew, Timothy Tomplait of Cow Island; and numerous great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Liness Matte; two brothers, Brian Matte, and David Matte; her nephew, Michael Paul Matte; and her dog, Yogi Bear.
