ABBEVILLE- A Graveside Service will be held at 1:30 PM on Monday, February 17, 2025, at St. Paul Cemetery, 505 Jacqulyn St., Abbeville, honoring the life of Arthur Ray Lavergne, 77, who passed away on February 13, 2025, at The Calcutta House. Deacon William Vincent will officiate the service. Arthur was born on November 13, 1947, in Church Point, LA.
Arthur was known for his vibrant spirit and zest for life. He had a deep-rooted passion for football, often gathering with family and friends to cheer on his favorite teams. His love for the outdoors shone through in his enthusiasm for golfing, fishing, and hunting. Arthur's playful nature made him a regular at card tables, where he enjoyed countless hours of laughter and camaraderie. Moreover, his affinity for adventure led him to local casinos, where he relished the thrill of the game alongside loved ones.
He is survived by his sons, Karl Lavergne and his wife, Katie, and Joseph Lee Lavergne and his wife, Irene; two grandsons, Brandon M. Lavergne and his wife, Jamie, and Justin R. Lavergne; five great-grandchildren; and sister, Beverly L. Richard.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Judy Inman Lavergne; parents, Moise Lavergne and the former Louise Inman; two brothers, Lee Lavergne, and Julius U. Lavergne; and sisters, Norma Jean Lavergne, and Alma L. Miller.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at The Calcutta House for the care and support provided to our loved one.
