Aurora Marceaux Abshire

Kaplan—Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 11, 2019 at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan honoring the life of Aurora Marceaux Abshire, 75, who died Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at her residence.  She will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend Palthasar Arrockia Doss officiating the services.

She is survived by her two sons, Joseph Mire of Kaplan and Claude Abshire and his wife, Rebecca of Kaplan; her daughter, Donna Mire Abshire and her husband, Billy of Groesbeck, TX; her sister, Laura and her husband, John Guidry, Sr. of Cow Island; one brother, Exavier Marceaux, Jr. of Abbeville; nine grandchildren, Paul Abshire, Jonathan Abshire, Jennifer Abshire, Anthony Pico, Brandon Duplantis, Shantel Mire, Shelly Mire, Jade Abshire, and Kaley Abshire; and six great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph Preston Mire; one daughter, Patricia Marie Mire; her parents, Exavier Marceaux, Sr. and the former Laura Marceaux; four brothers, Israel Marceaux, Willie Marceaux, Frank Marceaux, and Columbus Marceaux; and one sister, Mary Evelyn LeMaire.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Ave., on Thursday, October 10, 2019 from 10:00 AM until 10:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM; Friday, October 11, 2019 from 8:00 AM until the time of services at 11:00 AM.
