Barbara Whittle Touchet

February 27, 1949 — March 14, 2022

Abbeville –A memorial honoring the life of Barbara Whittle Touchet, 73, who died suddenly March 14, 2022, at her residence will be held at a later date.

Barbara was a loving and caring wife, mother, sister grandmother and great grandmother with a heart of gold. She was a very accepting women and always had her door open for anyone in need. You could expect a cup of coffee and food waiting for a visit from any friends, family and strangers alike. She was always cooking something and would ask if you were hungry. The size of her heart was endless, yet always had room for more. She never met a stranger. She was a very unselfish person that would do without in order to help someone else in need. She was a hardworking and independent woman.

She had many hobbies which included playing baseball in her younger years, pottery and ceramics, tending to her flower beds, playing with her grand kids, trips to a Casino, and playing a game of Bouray with family and friends. Barbara truly appreciated the trivial things in life.

She is survived by, her son, Michael J Bertrand; four daughters, Suzanne Marie Touchet Dore of Kaplan, Jeannine Ann Touchet Little of Maurice, Kathrina Marie Bertrand Deshotel of Abbeville, and Tracey Ann Touchet Leblanc of Abbeville;  eight grandchildren,  Robert Guerra, Sean Little, Justin Little, Dustin Deshotel, LeAnn Deshotel, Cedric Dore, and Matthew Leblanc, Ashley Leblanc; and 24 great grandchildren.

She was proceeded in death by her husband, Clarence "Tony" J. Touchet; her mother, Isabelle Whittle Harrington; and three brothers, Ray Allen Lege. Preston Harrington. Milton James Mire.
