Barbara LeBlanc Viator

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Barbara Viator on April 21, 2025. Born on July 1, 1941, in Abbeville, LA, Barbara was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who enriched the lives of those around her with warmth and kindness.

Barbara retired as a Teacher's Aide for the Vermilion Parish School Board after 35 years of service, where she made a lasting impact on the students she helped nurture. She cherished her family time, often camping with loved ones, hunting, fishing, and indulging in her creative hobbies like quilting, baking, and crocheting. She was also known as the proud owner/operator of Circle V.

Barbara is survived by her son, Neil P. Viator of Henry; daughters Belinda Mouton and husband Brady of Abbeville, and Lisa Chiasson and husband Robert of Rose Hill. She leaves behind four grandchildren: Mindy C. Durke and husband Coy, Kristi Mouton, Ellen C. LeBleu and husband Hunter, and Seth Viator, along with two great-grandchildren, Cooper James Durke and Allie Kaye Durke. Barbara is also survived by her siblings, Larry LeBlanc and his wife Nola of Erath, Janice Boudreaux and her husband Dewey of Erath, and Errol LeBlanc and his wife Bonnie of Abbeville, along with numerous nieces and nephews who will carry her memory in their hearts.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Roland Viator; and parents, Diel and Mable Domingue LeBlanc

We extend special thanks to the dedicated caregivers who provided comfort and support to Barbara in her later years: Chelsie, Rhonda, Mandy, Charlene, Liz, Olida, Jaylah, and Samantha.

To honor Barbara's life, a funeral service will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. Saint Charles St. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Hunter LeBleu, Coy Durke, Seth Viator, Jonathan LeBlanc, Kerney LeBlanc, and David Boudreaux.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2025, starting at 5:30 PM until 8:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM. Additional visitation will resume on the morning of the service, Friday, April 25, 2025, beginning at 8:00 AM until time of services.
