Berton Joseph Perry, 91, of Gautier, MS, passed away peacefully on Christmas morning, December 25, 2024. He was born November 23, 1933, in the community of Klondike, near Gueydan, Louisiana.
Bert was married to the love of his life, Carmen Jacqueline Breaux for nearly 65 years. Together, they owned and operated Perry's Yamaha in Pascagoula for many years. Bert and Carmen began dating while attending the University of Southwestern Louisianna, now the University of Louisianna in Lafayette. Bert received his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and attained his Professional Engineering license.
Bert served his country as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force for four years. He worked as a Professional Engineer in the Baton Rouge area, where he and Carmen raised their family before relocating to south Mississippi.
A visitation for Mr. Perry will be held Monday, December 30, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Vincent Funeral Home in Gueydan, LA. A funeral service will immediately follow in the funeral home chapel beginning at 12:00 PM with Reverend Corey Campeaux officiating. Interment will follow at Gueydan Cemetery beside his beloved wife, Carmen.
Bert is survived by his sons, Joey (Theresa) Perry, John (Wendy) Perry, and Steven (Kelly) Perry; grandchildren, Dana (Ian) McCormack, Monica (Patrick) Hasling, Andrew Perry, Christopher (Jennifer) Perry, John William (Kaleigh) Perry, and Jacob Marler; great-grandchildren, Roslyn, William, and Vivien McCormack and Dakotah Perry; and sister-in-law Marge Perry; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Bert is preceded in death by his wife, Carmen; his parents, Wilsy James and Lula Vincent Perry; and his younger brothers, Elwood and Wilsy J. Perry, Jr.
