Kaplan—Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan honoring the life of Betty S. Richard, 76, who died Sunday, February 9, 2020 at Abrom Kaplan Memorial Hospital.  She will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend Mark Miley officiating the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Christopher Trahan, Marcus Trahan, Travis Castillo, Blake Trahan, Patrick Doucet, and Andrew Guidry. Honorary pallbearers are Jennifer LeBlanc and Gretta Broussard.

She is survived by her four daughters, Winnie Breaux, Donna Richard, Ellen Stump, and Lana and her husband, Dederick Etienne all of Kaplan; her 16 grandchildren, Christopher Trahan and his wife, Jill of Choteau, MT, Justin Trahan of Kaplan, Brennan Richard of Kaplan, Rachael Richard of Kaplan, Marcus Trahan and his wife, Hailey of Lafayette, Jennifer and her husband, PJ LeBlanc of Kaplan, Travis Castillo of Abbeville, Lorena and her husband, Mario Ayala of Kaplan, Blake Trahan of Kaplan, Gretta Broussard of Kaplan, Patrick Doucet of Kaplan, Andrew Guidry of Kaplan, Courtney Broussard of Erath, Paige Doucet of Kaplan, Kalie Guidry of Kaplan, and Alyssa Richard of Kaplan; her 20 great grandchildren; her sister, Susie and her husband, Darrell LeBeouf; her godchild, Sammy LeBeouf; three nieces, Penny Perry, Deborah Mire, and Christine Perry; and her companion, Norman Abshire.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Richard; her parents, Walter “Dago” Schexnider and the former Yolande “Tit” Simon; her daughter, Julie Richard; and her nephew, Corey Jude LeBeouf.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Ave., on Monday, February 10, 2020 from 2:00 PM until 10:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM; Tuesday, February 11, 2020 from 8:00 AM until the time of the services at 1:30 PM.
