Betty Jane Landry Schexnider

April 7, 1934 — September 30, 2018

Kaplan—Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan honoring the life of Betty Jane Schexnider, 84, who died Sunday, September 30, 2018 at The Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice She will be laid to rest at Suire Cemetery with Deacon David Vaughn officiating the services.

She is survived by her two sons, Bruce Hodge and his wife, Lillian of Gonzales and Jerome Hodge of Forked Island; four daughters, Elizabeth Pontiff and her companion, Neil of Erath, Linda and her husband, Freddy Broussard of Pecan Island, Sandra Touchet and her companion, Peter of Forked Island, Sheila and her husband, T-Boy Authement of Sulphur; two step daughters, Gloria and her husband, George LeBouef of Abbeville and Bertha and her husband, Davis of Kaplan; 25 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Percy Schexnider; her parents, Paul and the former Evena Broussard; her daughter, Margaret Ann Hodge; her son, Curtis Hodge; one grandchild, Elaina Breaux; her son-in-law, Calvin Touchet; and four siblings, Verline Broussard, Dudless Landry, Dudley Landry, and Audrey Harrington.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Ave., on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 from 3:00 PM until 10:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM; Wednesday, October 3, 2018 from 8:00 AM until time of service.
