Billy Carroll Bailey

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, July  9, 2023  at First Baptist Church of Abbeville honoring the life of Billy Carroll Bailey, 91, who died Thursday, June 29, 2023 at Maison duMonde Living Center.  He will be laid to rest at Graceland Cemetery with Rev. Pres Riley officiating the services.

Billy spent most of his life in the oil fields, employed as a mechanic. He lived a simple life.  He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Abbeville.  In his spare time he enjoyed photography and fishing.  He was a man of many talents who took on various carpentry projects. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather that will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his three children, Ruth Ellen Bailey Touchet and her husband, Robert of Abbeville, Mark Allen Bailey of Memphis, TN, and Thomas Carroll Bailey, Sr. of Abbeville; seven grandchildren, Laura Caroline Faught, Charles Martin, Caleb Martin, Thomas Bailey, Jr., Kevin Bailey, Christina Bailey and Anna Bailey Simmons; and nine great-grandchildren, Lincoln Faught, Quinn Faught, Christian Faught, Canaan Martin, Eden Martin, Madeline Bailey, Gabrielle Bailey, Eden Simmons, and Luka Simmons.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elvina DeHart Bailey; parents, Charles Thomas Bailey and the former Ruth Welsh; brother, Grady Bailey; and sisters, Audrey Felps, Winefred Aldridge, Azalea Cottrell and Frances Woods.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles St., on Sunday, July  9, 2023 from 10:00 AM until 2:45 PM when the procession will depart for the church.
