Billy Dan Lambert

Jennings— Billy Dan Lambert peacefully passed away on Monday, June 21, 2021.  Graveside services were held at the Southwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery.

He was born in Idabel, OK.  As a young boy, his family moved to Port Barre, LA.  Billy Dan eventually settled in Abbeville, LA where he graduated high school with both basketball and track scholarships.  He served in the U.S. Army in the United States and Korea.  Upon his return, he worked in the oil industry for many years until his retirement.

Billy Dan was a friend to many.  His greatest joy was his family.  To those who knew and loved Billy Dan, he leaves behind a legacy of strong faith, love of family, a dependable word, a sharp wit, and a solid work ethic.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Ina Ree Dyson Lambert; his son and daughter-in-law Clinton and Donna Baudoin Lambert, his daughter and son-in-law Neenah Lynn Lambert Griffin and Stephen Griffin; six grandchildren, Jill Lambert Thibodeaux and husband Dane, Dr. Matthew Griffin, Travis Lambert, Andrew Griffin, Kelsey Lambert Broussard and husband Ben, Lauren Rebekah Griffin; two great-grandchildren, Lucas Thibodeaux, Emilie Thibodeaux; two brothers Curtis Lambert, Terry Lambert; and four sisters, Nita Clostio, Clifteen Trahan, Dana Vollmer, Angela Gooch.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Lambert and Norma Holman Lambert; brothers, Lyman Lambert, Leon Lambert, Mark Lambert; and sisters, Sallie Lambert Robertson, Linda Lambert Whitaker, Billie Lambert Major.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Hospice of Acadiana and all who provided compassion, care, and support.
