Bobby Joseph Hamlett

Kaplan—Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, March  4, 2023 at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan honoring the life of Bobby Joseph Hamlett, 85, who died Saturday, February 25, 2023.  He will be laid to rest at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Cemetery with Reverend Farley Painter officiating the services.

Bobby entered the United States Marine Corp right after high school and immediately served his tour of duty. After his discharge in 1963, he began his career as a truck driver for A-1 Allied Van Lines, working with them into his sixties. Afterwards, he enjoyed a partial retirement with his friends and family.

He is survived by his sister, Violet Hamlett Hurst and her husband, Donald of Baton Rouge; his brother, Steven Hamlett and his wife, Janet of Sunset; his two godsons, Jordan Hamlett and Justin Shafer; and numerous niece and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Hamlett; his parents, Alto and Delta Hamlett; his brother, Alto Buddy Hamlett; and his four sisters, Julia Aucoin, Dorothy Roberts, Zora Marshall and Mary Simmons.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Ave., on Saturday, March  4, 2023 from 10:00 AM until the time of the services at 1:00 PM
