Carl was born and raised in Ruston, Louisiana. He was a graduate of the 1980 class at Cedar Creek High School. He was a recipient of the Louisiana Tech Outstanding Student Scholarship.

After graduating college, he began his professional career in engineering management, software engineering, and information technology in telecommunications, supercomputing, and offshore survey industries in Dallas, Texas and Lafayette, LA for 20 years. His focus later drew him to Call Center Management for the last 15 years in supervisory and management positions. For the past 5 years he was employed with Calls Plus in Lafayette as their data/reporting analyst.

Carl was an avid reader and so much enjoyed a good book. He also loved listening to music. He was interested in history and enjoyed watching The History Channel. He will be remembered for his intelligence, compassion, and wonderful humor. He loved telling a good joke and just like his father, he had a wonderful laugh.

He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Gerianne Lormand Marceaux; his nephews, Matthew Boucher and Joseph Lormand; and his nieces, Laura Couvillon Humble and her husband, Brody, and Ava Couvillon. Carl was very proud to be their uncle and he felt truly blessed to have them in his life. He is also survived by his loving in-laws, Paul Lormand, Brenda and Wayne Couvillon, and Darrell Lormand; his aunts; his uncles; and his cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Carlton Marceaux and the former Rita Schexnider.

We want to thank everyone who took time to say prayers for Carl during his time of need and for everyone who showed their love and support to our family with compassion and assistance with food. We also thank his current employer, Mrs. Barbara Lamont and Mr. Ludwig Gelobter and the staff of Calls Plus for their prayers and support to our family during this time.

To assist with community safety we request that all guests be mindful of social distancing and wear a mask or face covering at the church and cemetery. There will be no gathering after the burial service.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 600 N. Church Avenue, on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 from 1:30 PM until 2:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 1:30 PM.
