Cecile Broussard Light

A private memorial will take place at a later date honoring the life of Cecile K. Broussard Light, 77, who died Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at her daughter’s residence.

My mother might have had a stubborn side to her.  However, she loved each and every one of her family in her special way.  She was a strong-willed woman and I guess that came from raising three children and taking care of her mother.  She loved taking pictures of her children and had her photo albums displayed for all to see.   She didn’t have our pictures on the walls for display.   I would guess she could not find a favorite one because she loved them all.  We will love and miss her always.  You are walking and breathing and no longer in pain.

She is survived by her daughter, Michelle B. Touchet and her fiancé, Richard L. Smith; three granddaughters, Elizabeth B. Touchet and her fiancé, Etienne Picard, Heidi M. Broussard, and Robin Broussard; four grandsons, Caesar J. Touchet, III and his fiancée, Hali Broussard, Alwin J. Broussard and his wife, Tara, Ridal J. Broussard, Jr. and his wife, Temika, and Carlton P. Brousard, Jr. and his wife; thirteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and one on the way.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Light; parents, Damone J. Broussard and the former Bennitte Foreman; brother, John J. Broussard; sisters, Carol B. Cormier and Wanda Broussard; sons, Ridal J. Broussard, Sr. and Carlton J. Broussard, Sr.; and son-in-law, Caesar J. Touchet, Sr.
