Charles or “Bubba” as he was known to many, loved raising cattle and did this for many years on his farm in Henry.  In 2005, Hurricane Rita destroyed most of his herd.  After the loss he then began competing in cowboy style shooting competitions where he won many awards and made lasting friendships that he forever treasured.  He loved taking morning walks around town and visiting his many friends along the way.  He loved telling jokes and was loved by many.

He started working at Union Oil on White Lake.  Later he started his own business acquiring right-of-way acquisitions for the phone company.  He then opened a feed store in Abbeville and at that point became a feed salesman for Bluebonnet and Manna Pro.  After retiring from this he finished his working career as an appliance salesman at Top’s Appliances in Lafayette.

He is survived by his son, Gregory Brasseaux and his wife, Lynda; daughter, Vanessa Brasseaux; four grandchildren, Jared Brasseaux and his wife, Brooke, Kristin Brasseaux, Brooke Lefort and her husband, Zachary, and Hannah Brasseaux; and seven great grandchildren, Ali, Layla, Kaleb, Mia, Micah, Eden and Claire.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Brasseaux; daughter, Giselle Brasseaux; father, Jerard Brasseaux; mother, Anna Toups Brasseaux; and brother, James Larry Brasseaux.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles St., on Wednesday, July  7, 2021 from 8:30 AM until time of services. A rosary being prayed at 10:00 AM.

The family would like to extend their gratitude and appreciation to Hospice of Acadiana for their care and support.  Special thanks to his nephew, Kim and his wife, Anita for their unending love and support.
