Charles Madison Bryan

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, August 22, 2024  at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville honoring the life of Charles Madison Bryan, 81, who died Monday, August 19, 2024 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.  He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Deacon Keith Duhon officiating the services.  Those serving as pallbearers will be Clayce Heyer, Charles Edward Bryan, Isaac Heyer, Jacob Heyer, Robert Dore, and Sammy White, Jr.  Honorary pallbearers will be Sammy White, Sr., Larry Arabie, Tommy Arabie, Chris Arabie, Presley Dore, Lars Hammond, and Dwayne Bourgeois.

Charles made a country home with his bride, Deanna, and four children in Coteau, Louisiana. During their 44-year marriage, he taught his family that God's blessings came from working the land, farming animals, and fishing the sea.  He found comfort in gospel music and singing his prayers.

He is survived by his two daughters, Bonnie L. Bryan of Coteau, and Connie B. Heyer and her husband, Lance of Coteau; two sons, Gene Paul Bryan and his wife, Tina of New Iberia, and Michael James Bryan and his wife, Kimberly of Natchitoches; sister, Bobbie Jean Romero; eight grandchildren, Gena Louviere, Krystyna Bryan, Matthew Heyer, Maggie Bryan, Clayce Heyer, Charles Bryan, Isaac Heyer, And Jacob Heyer; eight great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Deanna Marie Arabie Bryan; parents, Seaborn Madison Bryan and the former Ethel Philmon; sisters, Bertie Lucille Sandifer, and Billie Geraldine Racca; grandson, Seaborn Michael Bryan; brother-in-law, Daniel Arabie, Sr.; and numerous step siblings.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles St., on Thursday, August 22, 2024 from 9:00 AM until the services begin at 2:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 1:00 PM.
