Kaplan—A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Catholic Church honoring the life of Charles "Boo" Herpin, 76, who died Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at Our Lady of Lourdes Heart Hospital. He will be laid to rest at Cossinade Cemetery with Reverend Mark Miley officiating the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Martin Herpin, Darren Herpin, Craig Blanchard, Craig Gaspard, Eddie Boudreaux, and Johnny Faulk.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Gwen F. Herpin; his children, Lori Blanchard and her husband, Craig of Kaplan, Marla Herpin of Kaplan, Gayla Gaspard and her husband, Craig of Kaplan, Darren Herpin and his wife, Jackie of Carencro, Jennifer Boudreaux and her husband, Eddie of Kaplan, Natalie Herpin of Alexandria, and Martin Herpin and his wife, Hannah of Maurice; his grandchildren, Charlie Vincent, Guy Vincent, Jacob Vincent, Lindsey Suire, Sarah Mire, Kate Hebert, Drew Gaspard, Rhett Gaspard, Claire Faulk, Gabriella Herpin, Laurel Huval, Luke Herpin, John Herpin, Benjamin Herpin, David Herpin, Everett Herpin, Evelyn Herpin, Estelle Herpin, Leo Herpin, Sidney Boudreaux, Andrew Boudreaux, and Grant Boudreaux; step-grandchildren, Courtney Blanchard, and Parker Blanchard; great-grandchildren, Gemma, Emmett, Easton, Isabella, Elliot, Cooper, Jackson, Riley, Sawyer, Audrey, Shane; one step-great-grandchild, Harper; and his sisters, Gayle Bell and her husband, Roy, and Mae Dell and her husband, Carlton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walton Herpin and the former Evelyn Trahan; his brother, Thomas Herpin; and one great-grandchild, Morgan Vincent.
His family would like to thank Dr. Scott Bergeaux and staff, Dr. Stephen Simpson, Ochsner Abrom Kaplan Memorial Hospital, and Our Lady of Lourdes Heart Hospital. They would also like to thank their extended family, friends, and clergy for all the support and prayers.
Visiting hours will be observed at Vincent Funeral Home in Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Ave., on Friday, March 22, 2024 from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM; Saturday, March 23, 2024 from 9:00 AM until the procession departs for church at 12:45 PM.
