Kaplan—Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan honoring the life of Charles Joseph Romero, 75, who died Friday, March 10, 2023 at his residence. He will be laid to rest at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery with Deacon Tom Sommers officiating the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Tony Romero, Mike Romero, Parker Romero, Jacob Romero, Justin Romero and Mark Borel.
Charles was a hard worker and dedicated over 50 years of his life to the Oilfield Industry. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends but most importantly he loved and cherished his grandsons, Parker, Jacob and Justin.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Shirley Broussard Romero of Leroy; his two sons, Tony Romero and his wife, Kelli from Maurice and Mike Romero and his fiancée, Amy Broussard of Leroy; his three grandchildren, Parker, Jacob and Justin; his five sisters, Dorothy Broussard, Beverly Sewart, Linda Henson, Carmen Bellard and Pauline Bellard and her husband, Brian, Sr.; his sister-in-law, Ruby Blanc and her husband, Kenneth; his two brothers, Donald Romero and his wife, Vanessa and Andrew Romero, Jr. and his companion, Cindy Quick; and his brother,-in-law, Wilbert Broussard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Romero, Sr. and the former Lillie Mae Roche; his parents-in-law, Nolton Broussard and the former Euna Landry; six brothers-in-law; and one sister-in-law.
The family would like to thank those who cared for Charles over the last couple of months, including Amedisys Hospice, nurses and staff and Vermilion Health Care Center skilled unit staff. Special thanks to those family members who lovingly cared for Charles over the last couple of weeks.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Ave., on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 from 8:00 AM until the time of the services at 11:00 AM.
