Chester Charles

Kaplan—Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Shiloh Baptist Church honoring the life of Chester Charles, 79, who died Friday, September 17, 2021 at Willow Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  He will be laid to rest at Shiloh Baptist Cemetery with Pastor James E. Brice, Sr. officiating the services.

Chester, known to most as Lil Daddy or Bubs never met a stranger and was known to everyone near and far. He was well respected by everyone. Chester was known for his pool skills which he passed on to his son. He served in the United States Army, receiving an honorable discharge. He loved watching Saints Football, tennis and basketball, oh and let’s not forget about the Windjammer and his days on the Kaplan Sluggers, and playing cards with his friends.

He leaves to cherish his memories his daughters, Alisha Mouton, Janet Moss (Wayne), Mia Mouton, Ideria Marie Goodwill and Precious Rudd also known as a father to Russell Boudreaux; brothers, Henry Charles, Jr. (Gladys), Terry Charles and Otis Julien, Jr.; sisters, Annie Hart (Gary) and Amanda Guidry (Sam); 18 grandchildren; and 32 great grandchildren; godchild, LaKaisha Powell; and nieces, nephews, cousin and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Charles, Sr.; his mother, Annie Mae Mouton Bessard; one son, Demetrius Mouton; two brothers, Kerry Lee Julien and his wife, Marilyn and Pursey Batiste; two sisters, Rita Mae and Virginia Batiste; and his grandson, Jaylon Moss.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Shiloh Baptist Church, 607 N. Guidry Avenue, on Saturday, September 25, 2021 from 9:00 AM until the time of the services at 11:00 AM.
