Christopher Calef Willett

February 16, 1968 — April 21, 2023

A Memorial Mass will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at St. Mary of False River Catholic Church honoring the life of Christopher Calef Willett, 55, who died Friday, April 21, 2023, at his home in New Iberia. Interment will take place at a later date.

He was a devoted father, husband, son, brother, and son-in-law who will be missed dearly. Christopher would do anything for anyone without any complaints.

He attended ED White Catholic High School in Thibodaux, LSU where he was a member of Phi Kappa Theta fraternity and graduated from ULL. He was an avid golfer. In his spare time, he enjoyed reading, drawing and cooking for friends and family.  He loved all sorts of animals and time on the beach.  He enjoyed spending time outdoors on the patio listening to Jimmy Buffet.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, the former Lori Major; daughter, Madison Elizabeth Willett; parents, Stevens and Marsha Willett; brother, Joshua (Sunshine) Willett; nephews, Hayden Willett and Harrison Willett; niece, Harper Willett; godchildren, Kay Leblanc and Patrick Mallory; father and mother-in-law, Sonny and Barbara Major; sister-in-law, Stephanie (R.J.) Dupre; and numerous family and special friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Harold and Rosalie Willett; maternal grandparents, Ellis "Dickie" and Shirley Boudreaux; and aunt, Gayle Willett.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at St. Mary of False River Catholic Church, 348 W. Main St., New Roads, on  Saturday, April 29, 2023 from 10:00 AM until time of services at noon.  A reception to follow at Circa 1903, 237 W. Main St., New Roads.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Christopher’s memory to any animal aid or the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692.
