Kaplan—Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at Vincent Funeral Home in Kaplan honoring the life of Clara Stoutes, 96, who died Friday, February 2, 2024 at Kaplan Healthcare Center. She will be laid to rest at Gueydan Cemetery with Reverend Farley Painter officiating the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Herbert Fusilier, Jr., Paxton Fusilier, Darren Touchet, Todd Touchet, Lenis Paul Touchet, and Zachary Trahan.
She is survived by two sons, Lurcy Touchet and his wife, Faye of Branch, and Jimmie Touchet of Kaplan; two daughters, Wanda "Mamie" Fusilier and her husband, Herb of Duson, and Lou Abshire and her husband, Frankie of Kaplan; 11 grandchildren; Sherrie Vanover, Darrin Touchet, Todd Touchet, Herbert Fusilier, Jr., Rachel Trahan, Paxton Fusilier, Josie Duhon, Lenis Touchet, Kristyn Miller, Adeline Broussard, and Valerie Abshire; 21 great-grandchildren; Sydni and Cade Vanover, Garrett, Trey, Cameron and Grant Touchet, Brittany Matthews, Skylar Fusilier, Haley Miller, Zachary and Benjamin Trahan, Corley Fusilier, Jansen and Janae Duhon, Savannah, Adrienne and Ryliegh Miller, Elijah and Tali Broussard, Kathryn and Keegan Stanford; four great-great-grandsons, Sullivan and Rowen Baden, and Kainen and Brysen Stanford; and one great-great-granddaughter, Sally Baden.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin Stoutes and the former Eva Faulk; one daughter-in-law, Annie Touchet; three sisters, Cecile "Daisy" Gaspard, Agnes Touchet, and Eve Romero; and one brother, Bill Suire.
Visiting hours will be observed at Vincent Funeral Home in Kaplan, 300 North Eleazar Ave, on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 from 9:00 AM until the services begin at 2:00 PM.
