Claude Joseph Duhon Jr.

Abbeville—A Memorial Mass will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church honoring the life of Claude Joseph Duhon Jr., who died at his home surrounded by his family on Saturday, July 2, 2022.  Reverend Louis J. Richard will officiate the services.

Claude was born in Crowley, raised in Kaplan and later moved to Lafayette with his wife, Judy where they raised their family. He was employed with GMAC for 30 years. He was a tennis player and loved the outdoors. Claude was a family man who loved spending time with his kids and especially his grandkids. When he wasn’t playing tennis or enjoying family time, you could find him playing cards with old friends. He loved traveling and was a lover of country music. He was always making someone laugh and would brighten up any room he was in. Claude also served his country in the United States Army. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Judy Hebert Duhon; daughters, Stephanie Favaloro (Tommy), Michelle Langlinais (Chip) and Kristie Rorex; grandchildren, Taylor Herpin, Hunter Langlinais, Raegan Favaloro, Brennan Langlinais, Maddison Rorex and Emma Rorex; brother, Glenn Duhon; and sister, Gayle Broussard.

He was preceded by his parents, Claude Duhon Sr. and the former Averly Lejeune; sister, Lolita “Totsie” O’Brian; and son in law, Jude “Thad” Herpin.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, 300 Pere Megret St., Abbeville, on   Wednesday, July 6, 2022 from 11:00 A.M. until time of funeral mass at 1:00 PM.  Private burial will be held at a later date.

The family would like to extend a very special acknowledgement to the staff of Hospice of Acadiana for their compassionate care of Mr. Claude, in his final days, and their comforting spirit of the family in this most difficult time.
