Dalton Peter Saltzman

June 14, 1934 — September 6, 2021

“A Golden heart has stopped beating, hard working hands at rest. God broke our heart to prove to us he only takes the best"

Kaplan—A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, September  8, 2021 at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of our beloved father, grandfather, uncle and friend, Dalton Peter Saltzman, 87, who completed his earthly journey and rests in Our Savior’s arms on Monday, September 6, 2021.  He will be laid to rest at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Cemetery with Reverend Mark Miley officiating the services.

Dalton was a mechanic for over 50 years. His greatest treasure was his family…and his tractor “Big Red”.  He enjoyed the great outdoors and talking to the many people he met in his lifetime. If you were blessed to hear his many stories of life, carry them in your heart and share them with those you love.

He leaves to cherish his memory his son, James Saltzman and his wife, Debi; his daughter, Darnell Kohlenberg; his daughter-in-law, Lisa Saltzman; his sister, Sirena Rogers; his brother, Peter Saltzman; his companion of 16 years, Betty Hebert; his grandchildren, Tyler (Cari), Jamie (Craig), Drew (Angie), Tiffany (Rhet), Adam, Jonathan and Andrew; and his great grandchildren, Grant, Makena, Austin, Eli and Issac.

He joins in eternal rest his wife, Rose Saltzman; his son, Kendrick Saltzman; his parents, Pierre Saltzman and the former Emita Adams; his brothers Nelson, Sr. and Eddie; his sisters, Dorothy, Matilda and Eunice; and a host of relatives that have gone before him.

Special thanks to Heart of Hospice, his caregivers, Ms. Lou, Agnes, and Vanessa. Your love and care for him will never be forgotten.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 600 N. Church Avenue, on Wednesday, September  8, 2021 from 9:00 AM until the time of the services at 2:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 11:00 AM.
