Debbie Hardee

Gueydan—Deborah (Debbie) Gayle Hardee, 72, of Gueydan, Louisiana, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at Abbeville General Hospital.

A private service will be held in Gueydan, LA at a later date.

Debbie was born on April 18, 1951, in Abilene, TX, to Johnnie Ray and Peggy Paul Hardee. After graduating from Gueydan High School in 1969, Debbie attended nursing school in New Orleans, LA. Debbie spent most of her life as a homemaker. She had two green thumbs and loved taking care of her plants, as well as sewing, crocheting, and cooking. Debbie loved music, especially Elvis. She also had a love for animals, especially her cats.

Lastly, she loved and adored her TJ, and he loved and adored her, too.  Special thanks to TJ for loving her unconditionally and for taking care of her for the last 20 years.

We would also like to give a special thanks to Margaret and the staff of Vermilion Healthcare Center in Kaplan, LA.

Debbie is survived by the love of her life, TJ Mims, of Gueydan, LA; her two children: Mindy Jo Dye of Louisville, KY and John Mitchell (Susan) Dye of Palmyra, PA; five grandchildren: BrieAnna (Breezy) Ardito of LA, Sarah and Hailey Dye of PA, Alexis and Kurstin Garcia of Ohio; and one brother, Johnnie R. (Brenda) Hardee, Jr. of Arkadelphia, AR.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie and Peggy Hardee.
