Donald Mergist

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, June 20, 2024  at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville honoring the life of Donald Mergist, 86, who died Sunday, June 16, 2024 at his residence.  He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with his nephew, Kenneth Davis officiating the services.

Donald was a veteran of the United States Army who proudly served his country for four years.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Enola Miller Mergist; their two sons, Royce and Brock Mergist; his daughter, Dinah Turner; eight grandchildren, Hannah, Adrian, Isabella, Wallace, Payten, Carissa, Lilian, and Mathew; and one great grandchild, Miken.

He was preceded in death by his father, Belus Charles Mergist; mother, Eugenie Hebert; and six siblings.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles St., on Thursday, June 20, 2024 from 9:00 AM until time of services.
