Doris James Abshire

Kaplan—Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September  8, 2022 at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan honoring the life of Doris James Abshire, 55, who died Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at Our Lady of Lourdes Heart Hospital.  He will be laid to rest at Abshire Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Ramie Bourque, Jimmy Abshire, Rocky Bourque, Charles Smith, Jerry Abshire and Lursie Bourque. Honorary pallbearers will be John Abshire, Landon Bourque and Tyler Bourque.

He is survived by his son, Howard James Abshire of Kentucky; one daughter, Angel Renee Abshire of Kaplan; one brother, John Leslie Abshire and his wife, Donna of Abbeville; two sisters, Tammy Abshire Harrington of Abbeville and Linda Gail Parker and her husband, Lee of Youngsville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jospeh Doris Abshire and the former Terry Lane Mire; one daughter, Amber Paige Abshire; one sister, Tessa Abshire; and one nephew, Sava “Buskie” Abshire.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Ave., on Wednesday, September  7, 2022 from 11:00 AM until Thursday, September 8, 2022 11:00 AM with a rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM Wednesday, September 7, 2022.
