Doris Miller

Kaplan—Funeral services will be held honoring the life of Doris MIller, 101, who died Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at his residence.  He will be laid to rest at Pecan Island Community Cemetery with Reverend Matthew Barzare officiating the services.

Doris was a World War II Veteran. While fighting for his country he was wounded in combat and was awarded the Purple Heart Medal for his bravery.

He is survived by his four sons, Rodney Miller and his wife, Joyce of Gibson, Harris Lege and his wife, Lucy of Lafayette, Terry Miller and his wife, Michelle of Pecan Island and Ronnie Miller and his wife, Merrelea of Pecan Island; his daughter, Judy Miller of Gibson; his 19 grandchildren; and his 63 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Allie Pearl Miller; and his parents, Armogene Miller and the former Elmire Bourque; his two brothers; and his six sisters.
