Dorothy Primeaux Broussard

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville honoring the life of Dorothy Primeaux Broussard, 88, who passed away peacefully Friday, September 16, 2022 at her residence. She will be laid to rest at LeBlanc Community Cemetery with Deacon Cody Miller officiating the services.

She was an avid baker and loved to cook and spend time with her family.  She was the Secretary /Treasurer for the Vermilion Boat Club for many years.  She also volunteered at the Vermilion Association of Physically Handicapped sponsored by Abbeville Lions Club.

She is survived by her husband, Durphy Broussard; son, Ronald J. Broussard (Linda T.); two daughters, Arlene B. Arabie (Chris), and Marlene F. Broussard; daughter-in-law, Tammy Broussard; five grandchildren, Barrett J. Broussard (Sarah), Beau D. Broussard (Shantel), Kyley N. Thibodeaux (D.W.), Christopher A. Arabie (Christina), Brock A. Dubois, Camryn O’Bryan; five great grandchildren, Brennan, Cutter, and Libbie Broussard, Hali Roy, and RheAnne Thibodeaux.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Adam Primeaux and the former Anite Guidry; son, Glenn D. Broussard; brother, Asa Trahan; and a sister, Eunice Barras.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles St., on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 from 9:00 AM until time of service. A rosary will be prayed at 12 noon.

Pallbearers will be Ronald Broussard, Barrett Broussard, Beau Broussard, Christopher Arabie, D.W. Walden, Tommy Menard, Brennan Broussard and Cutter Broussard. The rosary and readings will be done by Christine Menard.

The family would like to extend sincere thanks to the staff of Acadian Hospice.  And also a very special thanks to Donna Bodin and Shantel Broussard.
