Dorothy G. Sztroin

Gueydan - A Mass of Christian Burial officiated by Reverend Corey Campeaux will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 18, 2025, at St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Dorothy G. Sztroin, 88, who passed away on January 15, 2025, at Gueydan Memorial Guest Home.

Dorothy enjoyed reading, baking, sewing, and traveling. She often mentioned her religious pilgrimage trip to Europe with other St. Peter Church parishioners and family members was her most memorable experience.

A visitation will take place at Vincent Funeral Home of Gueydan on Friday from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue Saturday from 8:00 AM to 9:45 AM. Burial will follow at Gueydan Cemetery.

She is survived by her two sons, Randall and his wife Helen of Gueydan, LA, and David and his wife Laurie of Katy, TX; her four grandchildren, Katelin Sztroin and Kristin Sztroin of Lafayette, LA, Michael Sztroin of Katy, TX, and Justin Sztroin of Houston, TX; one sister, Effie G Broussard of Gueydan, La; and four nieces and three nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Michael Sztroin; her parents, Ozone and Louise Guidry; one sister, Irene Simon; two brothers, Murphy Guidry and Chester Guidry; and one nephew, James (Jimmy) Guidry.

Lectors will be Justin Sztroin and Nadine Mier. Offertory will be Michael Sztroin and Laurie Sztroin.

Pallbearers will be Randall Sztroin, David Sztroin, Michael Sztroin, Justin Sztroin, Brandon Broussard, and Greg Mier.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at the Gueydan Memorial Guest Home for the tender care she received, especially during her final days.
