Earline Rose Trahan Greene Hardee

Kaplan—A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, August 29, 2022 at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Earline Rose Trahan Greene Hardee, 87, who died Thursday, August 25, 2022 at her residence.  She will be laid to rest at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Cemetery with Reverend Mark Miley officiating the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Gus LeDoux, Gabe LeDoux, James Hartshorn, Andrew Hartshorn, Joel Berken and Blaine Berken.

Earline went to be with her Lord on Thursday, August 25, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loving daughters. She was the daughter of a rice farmer and grew up in the rural area of Kaplan. She later married Bill Greene, Jr. who was a cattle farmer, and together they had three girls. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, godmother, and friend. Earline taught at St. Peters Catholic School in Gueydan for many years. She was an avid reader, a great cook, and a prayer warrior. She was known for her wisdom and wit, something she kept right until the end. Earline had a gift of using her common sense, wisdom, and sense of humor to speak into so many lives, which she did so very generously. She will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her three daughters, Eleanor Greene LeDoux and her husband, Charles of Kaplan, Kay Greene Hartshorn and her husband, Steve of Hamburg, AR and Virginia Greene Berken and her husband, John of Jennings; eight grandchildren, Gus LeDoux and his wife, Kerri, Gabe LeDoux and his wife, Katie, James Hartshorn and his wife, Jami, Andrew Hartshorn and his wife, Amy, Deidra Hartshorn Romero, Camille Berken Landry and her husband, Brian, Joel Berken and Blaine Berken and his wife, Cheyenne; 13 great grandchildren, Grant LeDoux, Alexis Callan, Charlie Kate LeDoux, Hudson LeDoux, Seth Hartshorn, Kathryn Hartshorn, Hagan Hartshorn, Ezra Romero, Vea Romero, Ada Marie Landry, Karissa Landry, Kamron Landry and Jameson Hattendorf; her sister, Alva Jane Trahan Mouton of Lafayette; her brothers, Jeffery Trahan and his wife, Loretta of Kaplan and Gerald Trahan and his wife, Martha of Kaplan; her sister-in-law, Jackie Greene Vincent of Kaplan; and four stepchildren, Ina Hardee Woods and her husband, Farrel, Dwight Hardee and his wife, Rowena, Richard Hardee and his wife, Becky all of Gueydan, and Larry Hardee of Baton Rouge.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Romeal Trahan and Noelie LeMaire Trahan; her loving husbands, William P. Greene, Jr. and Burnell Hardee; her grandson, Guy LeDoux; two brothers-in-law, J. Carol Mouton and John Francis Vincent; and her great-grandson, John Callan.

Earline’s family would like to thank Lamm Hospice and her caregivers, Ida Stelly, Lena Trahan, Rose LeBlanc, Brenda LeBeouf, Cheryl Marceaux, and family members for their sincere and faithful care.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Ave., on Sunday, August 28, 2022 from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM; Monday, August 29, 2022 from 9:00 AM until 1:45 PM when the procession departs for the church.
