Edward "Bajune" Abshire, Jr.

Kaplan—A memorial service was held on Saturday, September 21, 2024 honoring the life of Edward "Bajune" Abshire, Jr., age 84, who died Thursday, September 16, 2024 at his residence.

He is survived by his two sons, Rickey Abshire of Walker and Gerald Abshire of Abbeville; two daughters, Rita Mathews of Kaplan and Karan Abshire of Abbeville; one brother, Ervin Abshire of Forked Island; three sisters, Ella Mae Duhon of Abbeville, Myrtis LeBlanc of Abbeville and Earline Abshire of Broussard; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Abshire, one daughter, Christine Marie Abshire, one grandson, Lance Michael Mathews; one sister, Verna Key; and his parents, Avery Abshire and the former Lula Hollier.
