Elaine Sellers Luquette

Abbeville—A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church honoring the life of Elaine Sellers Luquette, 89, who died Friday, September 17, 2021 at her residence.  She will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Reverend Louis J. Richard officiating the services.  Pallbearers will be Eric Luquette, Raywood Luquette, II, Bubba Carlin, Adam Carlin, Kent Luquette, and Blake Luquette.  Honorary pallbearer will be James Luquette.

Elaine is a graduate of Mount Carmel Class of 1950.  She was the 1 ^st secretary at Vermilion Catholic High School employed from 1967-1981.

She is survived by her four children, Kim P. Luquette and his wife, Mary, Mark Luquette and his wife, Phyllis, John Luquette and his wife, Cynthia, and Jackie L. Carlin and her husband, Kirk; twelve grandchildren; twenty-nine great grandchildren; sister, Charlene Sellers Bernard and her husband, Lewis; and brother, Eugene Sellers and his wife, Phallie.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raywood J. Luquette; father, John Sellers; mother, Nathilia Hebert Sellers; and sister, Irene Sellers Bertrand.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles St., on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 from 9:00 AM until 1:45 PM when the procession will depart for the church.  A rosary being prayed at 1:00 PM.

The Luquette family would like to extend a heartfelt appreciation to the following sitters, Donna Green, Hayley Frederick, Shannon Landor, and Nichole Griffin.  Also, the staff at The Blake at Lafayette, Hospice of Acadiana and the Sewing Sisters with Hospice of Acadiana.
