Kaplan - Elizabeth "Betty" Pesson, 66 years old, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2018 surrounded by her loving family.
Ms. Betty was a native of Michigan and a resident of Morgan City. She retired from the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Department after 16 years of service. She loved to shoot pool, play cards, playing her computer games, and her arts and crafts. She had a love for owls and her tradition was they had to be given to you. Having such an outgoing personality, Betty never met a stranger and she will be greatly missed.
Elizabeth is survived by her husband, Raymond Pesson, Sr. of Bayou Vista; one daughter, Ramona "Mona" and her husband, Harold Driggers of Bayou Vista; one step-son, Raymond Pesson, Jr. and his wife, Anna of Bayou L'Ourse; three step-daughters, Melissa Frangenberg of Patterson, Tammy and her husband, Troy Broussard of Bayou Vista, and Carol and her husband, Dean Sanders of Texas; 12 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her adopted mother, Lou Western; and her father and mother-in-law, Henry and Edmay Pesson.
The family requested that a time of visitation be observed on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City. A visitation will resume on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Vincent Funeral Home in Kaplan from 10:00 AM until the procession departs for the church. A 12:00 PM mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Rosary Catholic Church on Thursday, January 11, 2018. She will be laid to rest in Pitre Cemetery with Reverend Mark Miley officiating the services.
