Elzie "Red" Cormier

Kaplan—Funeral services will be held at 12:30 PM on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan honoring the life of Elzie “Red” Cormier, 90, who died Monday, August 21, 2023 at his residence.  He will be laid to rest at Abshire Cemetery with Reverend Matthew Barzare officiating the services.

He is survived by his two sons, Willie Cormier and his wife, Mona and Stanley Cormier and his wife, Betty; his daughter, Patricia Wicks and her husband, Alfred; his six grandchildren; his 15 great grandchildren; his four great-great grandchildren; and his sister, Beatrice Benoit.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Mae Cormier; his parents, Alcide Cormier and the former Olita Abshire; his two sisters, Elizabeth Broussard and her husband, Clarence and Leonie Turner and her husband, Joe; his two brothers, Ursin Cormier and Marceluis Cormier; his granddaughter, Brittany Cormier; his great granddaughter, Riley Guidry; and his half-brother, Antoine Cormier.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Ave., on Friday, August 25, 2023 from 11:00 AM until 10:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 6:00 PM; Saturday, August 26, 2023 from 8:00 AM until the time of the services at 12:30 PM.
