Ervis Broussard

Kaplan—Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan honoring the life of Ervis Broussard, 93, who died Friday, June 14, 2019 at his residence. He will be laid to rest at Pecan Island Community Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Brennan Mire, Wyatt Roy, Caitlin Roy, Anthony Langlinais, Jimmy Vincent, and Scotty Broussard.

Mr. Broussard was a lifelong resident of Pecan Island. He was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard, having served during WWII as a member of the "Swamp Angels". Mr. Broussard retired from the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries in 1986, after serving as an enforcement agent for 32 years. After his retirement, he went back to work as an auxiliary deputy for VPSO, and as water patrol for Vermilion Corporation for the next 15 years. Mr. Broussard enjoyed raising cattle and hunting, as well as, spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Jacqueline C. Broussard of Pecan Island; his daughter, Iris Broussard of Pecan Island; one granddaughter, Pamela and her husband, Anthony Langlinais of Forked Island; three great grandchildren, Brennan Mire and his wife, Gabrielle, Wyatt Roy, and Caitlin Roy of Forked Island; three great-great grandchildren, Zylen Mire, Isaac Roy, and Aiden Roy; and one sister, Velma "Papoose" Doland of Grand Chenier.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alpha Broussard and the former Edolie Broussard; two brothers, Marvin Broussard and Lawrence Broussard; one sister Mavin Hux; and one infant sister.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Ave., on Monday, June 17, 2019 from 1:00 PM until time of services on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at 10AM.
