Cow Island—A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at St. Anne Catholic Church honoring the life of Evelyn Barry, 94, who died Thursday, June 13, 2019 at Gueydan Memorial Guest Home. She will be laid to rest at St. Anne Cemetery with Reverend Matthew Barzare officiating the services.

Her family would like to send a debt of gratitude to all the staff at Gueydan Memorial Guest Home for their kind and compassionate care of Mrs. Barry all these years.

She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Glenn Prejean and his wife, Sandy of Lafayette, Jay Harrington of Brownsville, TX, Maxie Michon of Abbeville, Boo Michon of Crowley, Roy Michon of Kaplan, and Shirley Istre of Kaplan; one brother, Iris Harrington of Brownsville, TX; and two stepsisters, Juanita and Clara Dean.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Oris Barry; her parents, Moleon Harrington and the former Mercedes Schexnider; and her sister, Stella Babineaux.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Ave., on Friday, June 14, 2019 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM; Saturday, June 15, 2019 from 8:00 AM until the procession departs for the church at 9:30 AM.
