Leroy—A private graveside service will be held on Friday, December 15, 2023 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery honoring the life of Fadra Broussard Landry, 97, who passed away peacefully on Monday, December 11, 2023 at The Calcutta House by Hospice of Acadiana. Reverend Paul Bienvenu will be officiating the services.
Originally from Kaplan, Louisiana she was currently a resident of The Blake of Lafayette for the last 7 years.
“Mom was the best Cajun cook, never utilizing a recipe and in her last years our conversations always revolved around what I would be cooking for Supper!” Cooking for her family was her hobby and gave her great joy. She took good care of so many in her 97 years, whether by visiting or long telephone conversations. We are thankful to The Blake of Lafayette and The Calcutta House for the care and love she received to the very end.
She is survived by her son, Dr. Philip Landry and his wife, Kim; her daughters, Amy Landry, Diane Davis and her husband, John and Anna Meaux and her husband, Boyd. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Eaves and his wife, Cindy, Elizabeth, Andrew, Christopher, Matthew, and Zachary and his wife, Kacky; and five great grandchildren, Malory, Morgan, Nicholas, Jackson, James, Ruthie, and another due in January.
She was preceded in death by her husband Laress Landry; one granddaughter, Melanie Landry; one grandson, Andrew Silva; her parents, Philip Broussard and the former Dora Landry; all of her siblings; and her in laws.
