Frances Bovia Boothe

Kaplan—Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Kaplan Baptist Church honoring the life of Frances Bovia Boothe, 91, who died on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at The Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice. She will be laid to rest at Nunez Baptist Cemetery with Pastor Lee Rodgers officiating the services.

A native of New Orleans, Frances was an orthopedic nurse at Ochsner Medical Center for many years. She enjoyed playing scrabble, solving crossword puzzles, reading novels, and cooking for family and friends. She was a loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

She is survived by her daughter, Helen B. and her husband, Keith Meaux of Kaplan; one step-son, Owen L. Boothe and his wife, Linda of Baton Rouge; five grandchildren, Rebecca Boothe of Baton Rouge, Kyle Meaux and his fiancé, Celeste Oliva of Kaplan, Thomas Meaux and his wife, Krystle of Lafayette, James Meaux and his wife, Angelita of Dallas, TX, and Stephen Meaux and his wife, Seija of Lafayette; and four great grandchildren, Sarah Giacone, Brody Meaux, Marigny Meaux, and Madeline Meaux.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hulan D. Boothe; one infant daughter, Nancy Marie Boothe; her parents, Romiel Bovia and the former Ella Gregoire; three brothers; and one sister.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Ave., on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 from 9:00 AM until services.
